Vision", on the search for new knowledge at the scale of the most vital reserves of carbon and biodiversity.

– Keynote – Audrey Azoulay, Director General of UNESCO
– Presentation of the " One Forest Vision " project by :
– Simon Lewis, Professor of Global Change Science at UCL

5:00 – 5:45pm

“Is there a business case to protect tropical rainforests?”

This second discussion will demonstrate that to protect the forest, it is not necessary to put it under a bell, but to better exploit it, by organizing the transition of the models of
production in the forest countries towards the bioeconomy, centered on the local transformation, the traceability of the products, and the remuneration of the populations.
– Speakers:
– Marc Palahi, Director of the European Forest Institute
– Gagan Gupta, President of ARIZE, promoter of free trade zones in Africa
– Violette Combe, Director of Operations, Veja

5:45 – 6:45pm

Can we agree on cash transfers for ecosystem services?

This third discussion will demonstrate that there is a potential "second dividend" for forest countries seeking to protect their forests, through innovative payment
mechanisms for forest ecosystem services: The objective will be to improve the characterization and growth of the high economic value and environmental integrity
carbon credit market segment, but also to follow up on the "Positive Conservation Partnerships" (PCPs) initiative launched at COP27 on financing the conservation of

vital carbon and biodiversity reserves, including through innovative products such as “biodiversity certificates”.

– Speakers:
– Philippe Zaouati, Managing Director of the investment fund Mirova
